Solar Power Inverters | #1 Solar Power Inverter Solution
Looking for an off-grid or hybrid solar power inverter? We carry all of the best brands in the industry like AIMS Power, MPP, Sol Ark, EG4, SunGold and more. All of our products ship from one of our 5 warehouses across the US.
There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for a solar power inverter. First is the inverter’s voltage - depending on the voltage of your battery bank, it’s important to match your inverters voltage to your battery/battery bank.
So if you're going with a 12 volt battery bank on your solar system, you'll want to buy a 12VDC inverter. Same principle applies for a 24V or 48V system - the solar power inverter MUST match the battery's voltage.
Second, is the continuous wattage - usually this is the main number that is shown for power inverters. This number essentially tells us how much power the inverter can “spit out” at a continuous rate. For example, a 6,000W inverter can handle 6,000 Watts (same as 6kw) of continuous loads from appliances and devices.
Typically you want to go with an inverter that is bigger than what your biggest combined loads might be. 2,000W / 4,000W & 6,000W Pure Sine Wave inverters are the most popular options in most off grid solar systems.
Third is the inverter’s surge capacity - usually 3x the inverter’s continuous rating, the surge tells us how big of an appliances surge it can handle. All devices have an initial “kick” when they turn on, especially things like pumps, air conditioners, refrigerators etc. So you’ll want to keep this in mind when shopping for a solar power inverter.
Lastly, you'll want to pay attention to the output voltage - you can get either 120VAC only (same as what your standard wall outlets produce) or you can get 120/240VAC (commonly referred to as split phase output) which is what things like your dryer, stove, well pump and other bigger appliances require.
