I love the Rich Solar MPPT40 !! - Best controller Ever...and ive run many before it - This controller keeps track EA DAY of my Ahr's rec'd from my array - VERY helpful ! - SUPERB RANGE of control i can set ANY parameter i want - This controller has kept my new 500Ahr bank in TIP TOP shape ! Nice efficient controller.

I got this as part of a 400 watt kit and I have been pretty impressed at the efficiency. Just for an experiment I hooked up two 200 watt panels and didn't even worry about the angle. I laid them out on a cloudy and cold day. I was getting about 1.5 to 2 amps and this controller was sending 2.8 to 4.5 amps to the batteries. I turned my inverter on to draw a small load and when the battery voltage dropped this controller did it's thing and started maximizing the input amps to the battery at a little over 5 amps. Considering the sun was behind a thick layer of clouds an I was only getting 40 to 80 watts coming in. Getting a charge on a cloudy day is pretty impressive to me!
