Perfect for my off-grid campsite

I'm really enjoying this kit for my off-grid campsite! I probably drove the sales staff crazy with questions and adjustments to the standard kit, but they were very patient and helpful with getting the system fine tuned to my exact needs. They helped me add extra panels, a 3rd battery, and the perfect mounting kit for my needs. The customer service I received from Tony and Maddie made sure they got a 5-star rating, otherwise I may have said 4. One of the shipments was handled very poorly by the carrier, but the packaging was so good that no damage was sustained. There was a miscommunication about which model of batteries came with the kit, but they immediately stepped up and made it right, and handled the shipment of the correct batteries and return of the original batteries. The one suggestion I would make is this: include in the kit some terminal covers for the batteries, a solar input disconnect switch, and a battery cut off switch. I solved all 3 concerns for <$40 on amazon (attached photo is of the original kit before the 3 fixes for these arrived.)

Camp solar

So far so good. I’ve installed four 200W panels on a bracket system I fabricated to go in the roof of our off grid camp. The two 24 volt batteries are connected to the 2400 watt inverter and it is putting out 110 volts AC.

I was reading 90 volts DC from the panels on an hazy afternoon and was hesitant to attach the wires to the inverter not being clear what the input rating was. Didn’t want to fry the inverter. When I called ShopSolar I was assured the inverter could handle 143 volts.

The next step is to attach the panel wiring to the inverter and complete the AC configuration with a breaker box and outlets.

This looks to be a well thought out system which is easy to install. Happy camper so far! Thanks.
