A power station with high capacity can make the difference between a decent generator and a great one. Capacity is the measurement of energy that a battery can store which can later be used to power electronic devices.
A battery’s capacity is measured in Watt-hours (Wh). To figure out how much power an appliance uses, we need to know what its wattage is. A ceiling fan, for example, is rated at 120W.

The Jackery 1000 is designed to work with 2 SolarSaga photovoltaic cells. In ideal conditions, these solar panels can generate 100W each, fully charging the device in just over 5 hours.

Jackery gave their portable generator a few more power outlets. The Jackery 1000 has 3 110V AC power outlets, which immediately puts it ahead of its competition.
On top of the extra AC outlets, the Jackery has a better selection of USB charging ports. There are 4 USB ports in total. Of the 4 outlets, 2 are standard USB outlets (one of them is 3.0 quick charge). The remaining 2 outlets are USB-C for newer devices.
The Jackery also has a 12V DC car outlet, so you can charge your generator in your car while you drive.
At first glance, there may not seem to be much difference in the number and type of power outlets on each battery. However, the few extra outlets show that Jackery paid more attention to the versatility of their device, which is why it’s the winner.
Bluetti EB150 or Jackery 1000
We’ve gone over some of the key selling points of the two generators, but there are some important details that make a big difference.

The Bluetti eb150 and the larger eb240 were released by MaxOak in 2019. Aimed at providing renewable energy at a reasonable price, the Bluetti relies on its sleek design and high capacity to attract customers.
The sturdy metal and plastic frame is highly durable. The generator can survive some pretty harsh punishment, making it a great investment for bringing power to the great outdoors.
However, it’s highly susceptible to water damage. At this price, some sort of splash protection would have been appreciated so you wouldn’t have to panic at the faintest hint of rain.
The eb150 utilizes its smart MPPT technology to charge rapidly from photovoltaic cells. But if it’s cloudy or raining, you’re going to need to charge it from another source. This is one area where the eb150 falls short.
Plugged into an AC wall socket, the Bluetti eb150 will take nearly 10 hours to reach 100% charge from 0%. If you’re looking for a generator that you can take on an adventure at the drop of a hat, this may not be for you.

Is Bluetti EB150 better than Jackery 1000?

If you have the extra $300 and need 500Wh more capacity, the Bluetti eb150 is the generator for you.
However, the Jackery is cheaper and the 1,000Wh capacity is more than enough for most needs. It also has more power outlets, which makes it a more versatile option.
How long does a Jackery 1000 last?
The Jackery’s battery life is rated at 80% at 500 full charge cycles. This means that after fully charging and discharging the battery 500 times, it will only hold 80% of its original capacity (~800Wh).
