Patriot Power Generator 2000X Review: The Truth About the New 4Patriots Generator

Short on time? Here's The Article Summary:

This article evaluates the 4Patriots Patriot Power Generator 2000X, positioning it as the updated version of the Patriot Power 1800. Despite serving as a backup power source, the 2000X is criticized for its lower power output, limited battery capacity, and slower charging speed compared to the similarly priced EcoFlow DELTA PRO 3600

The article contends that the 4 Patriot Power Generator 2000X is overpriced, especially given the availability of more advanced alternatives at a similar cost. It highlights 4Patriots' lack of specialization in solar equipment, contrasting it with industry leaders focused on technological advancements.

The article introduces three alternatives— EcoFlow DELTA PRO 3600, EcoFlow DELTA MAX, and Bluetti AC200 MAX—praised for their superior performance, expandability, and affordability, suggesting they provide more compelling options for those seeking reliable and top-tier solar generators.

Keep reading for a more in-depth review and comparison of the 4Patriot Power Generator 2000X.

Introduction

You should always view solar equipment as a long-term investment. When you spend your hard-earned money, you want to ensure that you are purchasing high-quality equipment that can be relied upon for years to come. Whether you are talking about long-lasting solar panels that will actually generate enough usable electricity to cover their cost, or you’re looking at a new solar generator that you can rely upon when the power goes out, you always want to invest in the best.

Within the world of solar generators, 4Patriots has emerged as a fairly well-known brand. This is because they have been able to carve out a fairly significant niche by catering their introductory products towards preppers and survivalists.

Recently, they launched the latest addition to their lineup – the Patriot Power Generator 2000X, which is positioned as an updated and expandable version of their Patriot Power 1800.

While it serves its purpose as a relatively useful source of backup power during blackouts, and it can function as a practical supplier of on-the-go electricity, a close examination reveals that it falls short when compared to some of the higher-end solar generators on offer from the competition. If the 2000X had an entry-level price tag, this wouldn’t be a problem, but as we’ll cover, it has a similar price to some of the best options on the market.

To help you choose the best solar generator, we wanted to take a deep dive into this latest solar product from 4Patriots, as well as provide you with what we consider to be far more powerful, efficient, and cost-effective alternatives.

Let’s dive right in!

Patriot Power Generator

4Patriots did not start out as a solar generator manufacturer, but they quickly gained popularity when they released their first. This is because they were able to base their brand around self-reliance by becoming a one-stop-shop for survivalists.

Rather than specialize in solar equipment, 4Patriots carries bulk dehydrated food, collapsible shovels, portable air filters, mobile phone chargers, and other survival gear. In this sense, the Patriot Power Generator Series is just one of their varied product lines.

While this all-encompassing approach to survival equipment and supplies may appeal to those looking for a simplified preparedness shopping experience, it does raise questions about the quality of their solar generators. With that said, the brand’s advertising efforts are commendable, and as a result, their Patriot Power Generators have become quite popular. That’s why we took an in-depth look at their latest version and measured how it compares to the competition.

The New Patriot Power Generator 2000X

As mentioned, the Patriot Power Generator 2000X is positioned as an upgraded version of its predecessor. It boasts an increased power output and a higher storage capacity than the Patriot Power 1800. The most noticeable of its improved features is the option to expand the battery capacity by purchasing the Patriot Power Generator 2000X Expansion Pack, which is basically a plug-in expansion battery.

While all of this sounds great at surface level, it’s worth taking a deeper look to see how it actually measures up to similarly priced and less expensive solar generators offered by the competition.

Performance and Efficiency

One of the primary considerations when evaluating any solar generator is its power output and efficiency. The Patriot Power Generator 2000X, while functional, falls short when compared to industry-leading alternatives like those offered by EcoFlow and Bluetti.

For example, where the Patriot Power Generator 2000X offers a continuous output of 2,000W, the EcoFlow DELTA PRO Portable Power Station is capable of delivering a mind-boggling 7,200W of output power.

While 4Patriots makes some pretty bold claims about the amount of power their solar generator can deliver, its power inverter just can’t handle that type of output. The truth is, in terms of output power, solar generators offered by the competition just offer far more technologically advanced internals than what the 2000X is equipped with. This translates to solar generators that are capable of powering more demanding appliances for longer.

Battery Capacity and Charging Speed

The Patriot Power Generator 2000X comes equipped with a decent battery capacity, but it pales in comparison to those on offer from top-tier competitors. Unless you are willing to spend a hefty $1,599.95 on the expansion battery, you’re looking at pretty minimal storage capacity. On its own, the Patriot Power Generator 2000X only has a storage capacity of 1,536Wh.

Again, when we compare that to the similarly priced EcoFlow DELTA PRO, it just can’t stand up. That’s because the DELTA PRO has a built-in 3,600Wh deep-cycle battery, which can be expanded to 25,000Wh, or 25kWh! That means the basic DELTA PRO offers more than double the storage capacity, so it can power your appliances and devices for much longer. This is critical during a blackout or emergency situation.

Unfortunately, the 2000X lags behind in both capacity and charging speed. In other words, you just aren’t getting much for your money.

What About the Patriot Power Generator 1800?

To understand the evolution of the 4Patriots solar generators, it's essential to revisit the Patriot Power Generator 1800. The 1800 gained popularity when 4Patriots emerged as a go-to destination for survival equipment and supplies, but it has since faced criticism for its limitations in terms of power output and dated features.

Patriot Power Generator 1800 Reviews

User reviews of the Patriot Power Generator 1800 provide valuable insights into its strengths and weaknesses. While many users appreciate its simplicity and user-friendly design, most express some degree of dissatisfaction with its limited capacity and slower charging times.

We can’t help but think that these generally negative reviews set the stage for the expectations surrounding the Patriot Power Generator 2000X.

Patriot Power Generator 1500

Before the 2000X, the Patriot Power Generator 1500 was a notable release in the 4Patriots lineup. Like its predecessors, it aimed to provide a portable and reliable power solution. However, as technology advanced, so did the expectations of consumers. The limitations of the 1500 model became apparent, leading many to look towards more innovative manufacturers, like EcoFlow, Bluetti, Jackery, and Point Zero.

How Much is the Patriot Power Generator?

The price point of the Patriot Power Generator 2000X is one of our biggest criticisms and it is something that potential buyers should be aware of.

While 4Patriots advertises itself as an affordable brand for preppers and survivalists, the price of their solar generators simply does not align with the value they provide. With the basic version of the Patriot Power Generator 2000X coming in at $2,999.95, it is just way overpriced! We also mentioned that a single 2000X expansion battery is priced at an additional $1,599.95.

Even with their offer of a free 100W solar panel with your purchase, you’re just talking about a very basic solar generator that is priced like a top-of-the-line option from a leading manufacturer. For example, you could purchase an EcoFlow DELTA PRO with x2 2000W folding solar panels for roughly the same price!

When you consider that the DELTA PRO blows away the 2000X in every conceivable way, it just becomes glaringly obvious that the 2000X is not a good deal.

If you’re serious about investing in a solar generator and willing to spend the type of money that the 2000X is going for, you have numerous options that deliver more and offer far better value.

Why Does the Patriot Power Generator 2000X Fall Short?

When assessing the 2000X, it's important to acknowledge that 4Patriots targets a specific audience—preppers and survivalists. Where those with a general knowledge of solar power systems and solar generators understand what various components and specifications mean, the casual shopper is far less informed. They see a product that can supply a few hours of backup power and assume that is exactly what they need without understanding that there are far more impressive options available at a similar price point.

This is not to say that 4Patriots is looking to dupe their customers. Instead, they just can’t compete with specialized solar specialists. Again, one of the major challenges for 4Patriots lies in its lack of specialization compared to industry leaders like EcoFlow and Bluetti. These companies invest heavily in research and development, pushing the boundaries of solar generator technology.

As a result, their solar generators simply outshine those offered by companies that have a broader focus. The specialized approach of the leading companies allows them to stay at the forefront of technological advancements, offering users cutting-edge features and performance. It also allows them to operate larger and more sophisticated manufacturing facilities, so they can offer their products to the consumer for less.

Fortunately, there is also a lot of competition within the solar generator industry, so the top brands have to compete on price, as well as technological development. This is why you can get a top-of-the-line solar generator with incredible features for such a low price if you know what to look for!

Exploring the Best Alternatives to the Patriot Power Generator 2000X

While the 4Patriots Patriot Power Generator 2000X might be a suitable option for some, we wanted to highlight what we believe are some top-tier solar generator alternatives:

#1. The EcoFlow DELTA PRO: A Game-Changer in Solar Generator Technology

EcoFlow DELTA PRO

The EcoFlow DELTA PRO stands out as one of the most innovative and impressive solar generators ever made. Boasting a built-in lithium battery capacity of 3,600Wh and continuous AC output of 3,600W, it is unmatched for a portable solar power system.

Aside from its incredible output power, what sets the DELTA PRO apart is its ability to be connected to another unit for a 120/240V Split Phase Output, providing flexibility for various power needs. With two DELTA PROs, you can power even the most demanding appliances, including washing machines, well pumps, and just about anything else you can think of. Not only can you power your appliances during blackouts, you can use your DELTA PRO to offset your power costs by storing and using free solar electricity.

With 1,600 Watts of solar input, a built-in 30A RV style plug, and a lifespan rated for 3,500 cycles, the DELTA PRO is designed for longevity and versatility. The DELTA PRO is also expandable, with the fully expanded system boasting a 25kWh storage capacity! This is nearly twice the capacity of a TESLA Powerwall 2!

It also is WiFi and mobile-app enabled, so you can monitor your DELTA PRO from your phone. With a wide range of other features, it simply blows the 2000X away, yet it is available at a similar price. Just imagine a Chevrolet Spark had an almost identical price as a brand-new Corvette. That’s what we’re talking about here. In other words, the DELTA PRO is just a no-brainer.

At Shop Solar, we offer DELTA PRO Kits that include all of the necessary cables, connectors, adapters, and solar panels, so you can enjoy a hassle-free setup for emergency backup, off-grid living, or full-time RVing. Experience simplicity, value, and reliability with the EcoFlow DELTA PRO.

#2. EcoFlow DELTA MAX: Affordability Meets Quality

EcoFlow DELTA MAX

The EcoFlow DELTA MAX was a highly anticipated upgrade on EcoFlow’s popular DELTA 1800. It was designed to be an affordable and reliable option for off-grid living and home backup power. With full DELTA MAX Kits available for less than half the price of the 2000X, it’s incredible that it still delivers so much.

With an expandable battery capacity that ranges from 2kWh to an impressive 6kWh, the DELTA MAX provides ample power for a wide range of applications. Aside from the low price point, what also sets it apart is its remarkable charging speed, which is capable of fully recharging the DELTA MAX in under 2 hours. Thanks to its 3600W dual charging feature, you can charge your DELTA MAX with solar power and AC power at the same time!

With 3400W X-Boost, the DELTA MAX can also power a wide range of devices, ensuring versatility in usage. While the DELTA PRO is EcoFlow’s top-of-the-line option, the DELTA MAX is a more than capable option for those who just need reliable and portable backup power.

Like the DELTA PRO Kits, we carry a variety of DELTA MAX Kits that include all of the necessary cables and accessories, making it easy to harness the power of off-grid solar energy with a low-cost investment.

#3. Bluetti AC200 MAX: Power and Expandability

Bluetti AC200 MAX

Bluetti is another one of the most reputable names in the industry. While Bluetti offers a wide range of solar generators for different budgets and power needs, the Bluetti AC200 MAX stands out as one of the most exciting and versatile options, especially as an alternative to the 4Patriots 2000X.

The base model’s lithium battery offers 2,000Wh of storage capacity, which is more than you get with the 2000X; however, the AC200 MAX costs significantly less. With two expansion battery ports, it can also accommodate up to two Bluetti B230 Expansion Batteries, each holding 2,048Wh, or two B300 Expansion Batteries, each capable of storing 3,072Wh.

This gives you the option to customize your system, or fully expand the storage capacity to an impressive 8,192Wh.

The AC200 MAX is also equipped with a built-in 30A RV-style plug, and it has a lifespan exceeding 3,500 cycles. Despite its entry-level price, the Bluetti AC200 Max is a popular choice amongst solar enthusiasts due in part to its upgradability.

Like our EcoFlow Solar Generator Kits, our Bluetti Kits include all of the cables, connectors, adapters, and solar panels you need, ensuring a seamless transition to quiet, free, and reliable solar power. Experience the simplicity, value, and reliability offered by the Bluetti AC200 Max.

Final Words

While the 4Patriots Patriot Power Generator 2000X may serve the needs of some users, once you have explored the alternatives, like the EcoFlow DELTA PRO, EcoFlow DELTA MAX, and Bluetti AC200 MAX, it becomes clear that it just can’t stand up to the competition. If the 2000X was significantly cheaper, you could maybe stomach the price, but the solar generator industry moves fast, and even shortly after its release, it has already been left behind.

Whether for off-grid living, RV adventures, or home backup, the alternatives just present far more compelling cases for those seeking reliable, top-tier performance.
