What Can This Kit Actually Power?
HBK-6.4 is considered a large off grid solar kit that has 2 x 9.2kWh Lithium power walls, giving you 18,400 watt hours of useable battery capacity.
Plus the 6.5kw watts of solar panels that will be generating an additional 6.5kw of power per hour while the sun is shining.
If we assume there's roughly 6 good sun hours in most states, the solar panels will produce around 38+kw of power each day (or 1150+kw/month).
The solar panels in this kit will recharge your battery bank in 3-4 hours of good sunlight.
We have sized these with the bare minimum in mind, meaning we base the battery size on providing 15-18 hours of consistent run time in order to get us through the night and to when the sun comes back up the next day.
Because of this, we would recommend adding a backup generator to your system. All of our HBK's have the ability to hook up to a gas generator which can then recharge your lithium battery bank, extending your power and improving your reliability.
Easily expand the kit down the road with more solar panels, more battery AND more output as every component in our HBK kits are expandable and stackable.

What Does Off-Grid Mean?
Great question. It means this system does not tie in with your local power grid / utility company. So there's no "selling" excess power back to the power company. Off-grid means your system operates 100% independent of the grid. Any excess power you're making during the day goes right into your 2 batteries included with the kit so that you can run your home / RV / cabin / shop / business all night long when the sun isn't shining.
Can I use grid power to charge the batteries and/or tie this system in with my on the grid home though?
The short answer is yes. Our off grid kits come with inverter/chargers, meaning you can suck power out of the batteries as well as throw juice back into the batteries via a generator OR any form of AC shore power (aka your grid tied home). When it comes to backing up your home or tying it in to your existing electrical system, you'll need to work with an electrician to get some form of transfer switch that will allow you to go back and forth between your homes grid tie power and your off grid battery backup.

Set up in testing environment
So far I have this setup at home for testing before dismantling and putting it on my property.
I have this sized to accommodate a 40' x 8' shipping container converted into a camping space until my home can be built. I have loads of refrigerator, air conditioner, 30 gallon hot water heater, two mobile hot plates, well pump, cistern pumps, 2000watts of winter heating.
I'm simulating the draw and charging at home based upon the demands of my camp. I chose this kit to be able to expand for the house. I'm impressed with the support so far in resolving most of my questions and the only glitch I've had was with the app so far. I do now realize that with my current loads that I will be using that the two batteries are going to be inefficient so I need another 18kwh in batteries. It wouldn't be fair to upload videos or pictures until its in the permanent environment.
Before attempting this you need to watch Will Prowse's DIY Solar Power channel. He's got this down.
It's really simpler than one would think to setup but requires some patience. The system is hands down one of the best I've encountered and would do this over growatt. I came to my decision after lots of research. The app works with some exceptions in accurate charging numbers but that's because the inverters don't directly communicate with the on board BMS of the batteries.

The manufacturer claims that the panels have high shading tolerance and perform very well at high temperatures. The power temperature coefficient is at -0.36% which shows that even extreme heat won’t be much of a problem.

Set up in testing environment
So far I have this setup at home for testing before dismantling and putting it on my property.
I have this sized to accommodate a 40' x 8' shipping container converted into a camping space until my home can be built. I have loads of refrigerator, air conditioner, 30 gallon hot water heater, two mobile hot plates, well pump, cistern pumps, 2000watts of winter heating.
I'm simulating the draw and charging at home based upon the demands of my camp. I chose this kit to be able to expand for the house. I'm impressed with the support so far in resolving most of my questions and the only glitch I've had was with the app so far. I do now realize that with my current loads that I will be using that the two batteries are going to be inefficient so I need another 18kwh in batteries. It wouldn't be fair to upload videos or pictures until its in the permanent environment.
Before attempting this you need to watch Will Prowse's DIY Solar Power channel. He's got this down.
It's really simpler than one would think to setup but requires some patience. The system is hands down one of the best I've encountered and would do this over growatt. I came to my decision after lots of research. The app works with some exceptions in accurate charging numbers but that's because the inverters don't directly communicate with the on board BMS of the batteries.
