Excellent kit: awesome panels (trina solar 385w) inverters(growatt 3kw x2), and batteries (big battery HSKx2). The included wiring was sufficient in size, quality and length, but the included panel fuses were not sized appropriately for the panels. The panels required 25amp fuses and the kit included 15amp fuses and one of the two blew in the first week of use. Customer service expedited 20amp fuses after i explained to them what happened and why it happened, but i bought 25 amp replacements instead, because 20 is still not enough.
The batteries’ BMS do not connect to the inverters, other models do, so I purchased a renogy solar shunt-type battery monitor to have an undertanding of my battery charge level, as voltage alone is not reliable enough a source to go by when assessing what degree they are charged.
Do not subscribe to solarhub, there is no additional information if you do, you will only access the same information shopsolarkits.com emails when you purchase your kit, and it will cost $180 that they will not refund you if you ask them.
My setup is in split phase to achieve 240v ac when i need it, I am happy with the quality of the components and their function, though the inverters can be a bit overwhelming at first.
Fortunately for myself, I was an avionics technician in the Navy, so electronics is something i understand, but for the beginner, based on my experience, i worry that purchasing a kit through shopsolarkits.com may prove to be very difficult and daunting…
