Is this kit expandable if I want more power later?

Absolutely. The Plus is built in a way that allows you to add more of everything; batteries, panels, inverters etc.

How long does it take to charge from 0 to 100%?

Under ideal sunlight, the included panels will top off your battery in about 5–7 hours. It’s designed to be replenished during the day so you’re ready for the night.

Is the kit waterproof?

The panels are, same with the PV cabling and any racking options. The inverter and batteries are not IP67 rated, and should be kept inside.

How does the kit perform in extreme cold or heat?

The kit is designed to work within a normal range of temperatures. The inverter and batteries are not IP rated, so keeping them inside is required. The inverter's operation temperature: 14°F ~ 104°F The batteries are: Charge Temperature: 32℉ to 131℉ (0℃ to 55℃) Discharge Temperature: -4℉ to 140℉ (-20℃ to 60℃) Storage Temperature: 14℉ to 95℉ (-10℃ to 35℃)

Do I need a professional electrician to install this?

Not necessarily. The Max is a "Plug-and-Play" system. So depending on your comfort level following the digram and instructions, setting it u yourself is not a problem. However, if you intend to wire it directly into your home’s breaker box via a transfer switch, we always recommend a quick consult with a pro.

Can the Pro Kit support a 240V well pump?

Yes. The Pro features a split-phase output capable of powering heavy-duty 240V appliances.

How does the Pro Kit perform in extreme cold or heat?

The Pro Kit is built for year-round reliability. The Alpha 5 Pro battery can discharge in temperatures from -4°F to 149°F. For safety, the system automatically stops charging if temperatures drop below 32°F. The Inverter is optimized for a range of 14°F to 104°F. To ensure peak performance and 10+ year longevity, we recommend installing the kit in a protected, ventilated space like a garage or shed.
