What is the Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator?
The Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator weighed in at 20 pounds, which was about half that of the competition. What made it so great was that not only could you charge it from solar panels, a wall charger, and a car charger, but it also charged extremely quickly (7 to 8 hours) from solar panels. The 1,100 watt-hour lithium-ion battery was the biggest improvement. It lasted four times longer than any other solar generator on the market.
The Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator was a beast! To give you a rough idea, the closest competitor on the market weighed more than double as much at 43.7 pounds!

Why Did Inergy Upgrade the Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator to the Inergy Apex?
Inergy rose in popularity with its original portable solar generator, the Kodiak, but it wanted to keep innovating and listening to customer feedback. So, it decided to take everything great about the Kodiak and upgrade it. At the end of 2018, after it sold out of the original Kodiak, Inergy announced the launch of the new and improved Inergy Apex Solar Generator. We began pre-selling the Apex in January 2019, and the response was amazing!
Inergy's initial pre-sale for the APEX sold out in a little over a month. Thanks to the customer response, Inergy completed a second round of pre-sales in June 2019.
What is the Inergy Apex Solar Generator?
The Inergy Apex solar power station is an even bigger beast! The Apex is the most compact, lightweight, and easy-to-use plug-and-play source of renewable portable power in the world.
It features an advanced maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controller, so it charges faster and safer, which is one of the main upgrades. The Apex’s internal battery also lasts up to four times longer than any comparable product on the market.
The Apex packs a punch with a peak 1,500-watt pure sine wave inverter and 1,100 watt-hours of peak battery capacity. It can power dozens of devices and appliances wherever you need it. Best of all, under normal conditions, the Apex is nearly silent and 100% odor and fume-free. There are no pollutants or toxic exhaust like with noisy gas generators.
What can it power?
- Smartphones (5-7 watts): 100+ hours
- Tablets (25-40 watts): 40+ hours
- Laptops (50 watts): 20+ hours
- Electric Blanket (Queen Size, 75 watts): 14 hours
- 50" LED LCD TV* (65 watts): 16 hours
- Refrigerator* (18 cu ft., 20% duty): 30 hours
- Chest Freezer (9 cu ft., 15% duty): 50 hours
- Sump Pump (1/3 HP): 2.5 hours
- Basecamp LED Light (6 watts): 183 hours
Can You Use Third-Party Solar Panels?
When the Apex launched, you could only use Inergy panels to charge the generator, but this changed with the launch of the EC8 to MC4 adapter that lets you use ANY third-party panels with your Apex generator.
