If you're wondering why everywhere you look the Kodiak Solar Generator is either sold out or unavailable, that's because it actually no longer exists. When the Kodiak Solar Generator launched in mid 2015 it absolutely revolutionized the solar generator industry.
The good news is, the Kodiak solar generator was actually upgraded in early 2019 to the new and improved Inergy Apex Solar Generator which is even better (and cheaper) than the original Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator.
We created this article to explain why the Kodiak Solar Generator was revamped and changed to the Inergy Apex as well as go into detail on what we think about the new unit.
What is the Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator?
The Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator weighed in at 20 lbs which at the time was about half that of the competition. What made it so great was that you could not only charge it from solar panels, a wall charger and a car charger but it charged up extremely quickly (7-8 hours) from solar panels. The 1,100 watt hour lithium ion battery was the biggest improvement as this meant it lasted 4 x longer than any other solar generator on the market.
The Kodiak Solar Generator was a beast! To give you a rough idea, the closest competitor on the market weighed more than double as much at 43.7 lbs!

Why Did Inergy Upgrade the Kodiak Generator to the Apex?
Although Inergy rose to popularity with their original portable solar generator, the Kodiak. They wanted to keep innovating and listening to customer feedback. We began pre-selling the Apex in January 2019 and the response was amazing!
