Assistant Operations Manager - Full Time - Remote - Canada

We're looking to hire a full-time Assistant Operations Manager for our fast growing eCommerce business where we specialize in the sale and installation support of mini off-grid, portable and emergency backup solar power kits.

You will be supporting our operations team & our customers through both the pre and post-purchase journey as well as helping us to improve the overall customer experience and business processes.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be:

- Handling heavy amounts of inbound phone calls (sales, customer service & troubleshooting)
- Outbound Phone Calls (customers & suppliers)
- Customer Service Email Management
- Handling Live Chat Customer Support
- Software Implementation & Roll Outs
- Team building & performance management
- Assist with inventory management & procurement
- Supporting Operations & Customer Service teams

The Assistant Operations Manager will handle a mix of customer service, sales and supplier relations mixed with some basic Human Resources and other variable tasks needed on a day to day basis.

What we're looking for..

We're looking to find someone that is interested in a long-term position with a fast growing start up. You'll need to be super resourceful and confident on the phones while handling heavy amounts of inbound customer calls and day to day operational activities. 
With that, there are tons of different hats that need to be worn from customer service, HR and legal to onboarding new suppliers, managing stock levels and more. Long term (2-3 years), we'd love to see this person grow into a higher level position within the company (ie. Director of eCommerce / Operations Manager / Director of HR etc.)

 

Ideally this person is looking to:
- Secure a long term position 
- Grow within the company
- Learn more about solar power and renewable energy
- Wear many hats and learn everything there is to know about eCommerce operations
- Go with the flow of startup life and willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty (not literally but figuratively)
- Work remotely from a professional workspace, 9:30-5:30pm EST, Monday to Friday

 

The position is not necessarily time sensitive, however we are looking for someone to start around early November. This is a full time position and starts with 12 paid days off in your first year + your birthday (after the 180 day probationary period) and unlimited unpaid time off.

Customer Success Agent - Full Time - Remote 

We're looking to hire experienced, full-time Support Specialists (Live Channels) for our fast growing eCommerce business where we specialize in the sale and installation support of mini off-grid, portable and emergency backup power.

You will be supporting our operations team & our customers through both the pre and post-purchase journey as well as helping us to improve the overall customer experience.

P.S - We care more about your attitude, values and intelligence than your experience.

Some of your day to day tasks will include:

- Technical troubleshooting and order status phone calls, emails & live chats

- High Volume Phone call, Live Chat and Email Management

- Live chat support

- Administrative assistance

- Supporting all departments of the company

 

You'll get to:

- Learn human-centered customer support methods

- Partner with experienced customer support folks to respond to inbound and outbound needs of off grid solar customers

- Join a Support organization that has always been set up remote and will allow you to thrive from anywhere in the world

- Help customers across North America get off the grid with solar

- Learn the ins and outs of the renewable energy space

 

Following 2 weeks of training and shadowing, you will be responding and helping our customers as well as handling order fulfilment and administrative tasks. Our support specialist will work Monday to Friday (& every other Saturday), 1:30pm-9:30pm EST.

Key Requirements For The Role:

  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • Strong, above average verbal and written English
  • Experience providing LEGENDARY customer service in a HIGH volume contact centre, retail or service environment.
  • Have appropriate remote work set-up - such as quiet space, stable internet connection, and a back-up location in case of issues with the primary location.
  • Have access to a wired internet speed of at least 25 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps upload. You can check your speed here.
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) on a consistent schedule from 11am-7pm EST - Monday-Friday & some Saturday's
  • Proficiency with technology paired with excellent typing skills.
  • Have strong reading, writing and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn all about solar power and renewable energy as well as care deeply about people support and enjoy having genuine human conversations.
  • Possess high level of understanding, patience and empathy
  • Are committed to continuous growth and learning. You understand that every challenge is an opportunity and you get excited about learning new things.
  • Ensure privacy and security practices are followed at all times for both customers and the business.

Bonus Experience:

  • A background or interest in solar power, renewable energy, off-grid living.
  • Have experience using the Shopify platform
  • Experience with troubleshooting and technical customer service phone calls
