The TS4-A-O (Optimization) is the advanced add-on optimization solution that brings smart module functionality to standard PV modules for higher reliability. Improve energy efficiency by upgrading underperforming PV systems or adding smart features to new installations. Complies with 2017 and 2020 NEC rapid shutdown requirements. The TS4-A-O add-on supports PV modules up to 700W.

Simple to Install, Works Great

The optimization function does work without any additional hardware and these things are extremely easy to clip to each panel. My array gets partial shade in the morning which would cause the voltage to dip low enough that the inverter would not accept the input until later in the morning. With these optimizers I start putting PV into the system way earlier since the other panels are not brought down by the shaded panels. You need the TAP/CCA to do rapid shutdown and monitoring which I'm not using at the moment.
