Solar Start

The kit is very well done and training makes it look pretty easy. Shipping was a problem as I ordered two kits for two sites and parts were sent to one. Customer Service found the error and assisted in get parts to the right place. Attention to detail in shipping is needed.

400w system

Actually it was pretty easy to set up. I am using it in my shed for lights and battery chargers. I have also been running a small fan. No issues thus far. I have the solar panels on the side of the shed for now. It picks up a good 6 hrs of sun there. Eventually they will go on the roof.

Beginner DIY kit works very well

The panels charge the batteries quickly even at times when the sun is not shining brightly! The 2000w inverter will run my refrigerator when the batteries are putting out at least 12.4 volts, but then the starting surges trip the overload alarm. The inverter also has the grounded fan cover very close to the hot lug of the 12 volts power source. I had to buy longer battery posts to get the 4/0 cables all attached, and I had to make the fuse openings bigger for the 4/0 cable 200 amp fuse to fit. Otherwise, everything worked out of the box and has been very reliable as long as I don't over do it.

Great kit

This kit is very nice an when set up right with a remote generator there's no worries. I highly recommend upgrading to the better batteries for a large RV. I had minor issues but the team at solar kits helped greatly. The way I have them in picture on RV works awesome in the winter down here in Arizona. But I plan on hinging the mounting boards for more angle in summer.

Great Buy! Would do it again!

So far, I am very impressed. Waiting on a couple of components to arrive, but service has been outstanding.

Product is impressive. I have owned sail boats in the past and am familiar with low voltage systems.

Great system for sheds

I ordered this system to power my shed in Northern Michigan. Everything was sent with tracking numbers. Items arrived when expected and was well-packaged. Included was a digital wiring diagram with step-by-step instructions on how to hook-up. I have called customer service with questions on a second system I ordered and their service was great!

Great product Great Service

I purchased this kit because its a great price to get started with solar..I am extremely satisfied with the products in the kit along with their customer service.. the kit comes with everything you need to get started..

In my case... I was doing a complete rewire of a 24' sailboat.. so of course I had to design my boats DC only system with this kit.. And of course in the pictures you will see things not included with this kit.. keep in mind... a complete rewire.. I was easily able to apply their system to my system.. since this was my first time doing solar.. oh I had questions.. I researched a ton.. but still youll always have questions.. and that is where the customer service @shopsolarkits is beyond compare.. they listened and helped with every question I had.. and if one person didn't have the answer.. they got someone who could.. ild like to thank Raph, John, Kristen, Max and everyone else @shopsolarkits for the great products and Customer service..

Can I expand this system in the future?

Yes, you can add more solar panels, charge controllers and batteries to this kit. But consider the specifications based on the system voltage. If otherwise unsure, you can consult our solar technicians.

What solar panels are included with this kit?

You'll receive 200W monocrystalline solar panels from one of the leading brands in the solar industry. Backed by a minimum 25-Year power output warranty. We do our best to source all of our solar panels from North America, Mexico or Vietnam. Most popular brands we carry are Aptos, Phono, Mission and SolarEver.

How long will my battery bank last?

You'll be covered by a 36-month warranty. Expected Cycle Life >3000 cycles w/1C charge and discharge rate, at 77°F, 80% DOD

Can I install this system myself?

We've created the kits for absolute simplicity. That said, we highly recommend getting the help of a professional installer / certified electrician. You should plan on potential costs associated with this as well.

What sort of solar panel racking is included?

We include pre-drilled frames on the solar panels along with standard z-brackets to make mounting the panels to the structure of your choosing as easy as possible. Most of our customers make their own racking systems using locally sourced UniStrut or add one of our ground racks to your order.

Can I use a generator or the grid to charge my battery bank if needed?

Absolutely. Your inverter comes ready to go with an AC input where you can hook up a stand by generator for charging the batteries on cloudy days or at night if needed. You can also use the grid as the AC input source if it's available.

Can I sell power back to the grid with this system?

No, this system is not designed to sell power back to the grid. However, you can use the grid power to recharge your batteries.

How big is all of this? How much space do I need?

The solar panels will come on a pallet and can be left inside or outside. They are almost 5ft long and 2 1/2ft wide. The batteries weigh at most 50lbs, and 1 1/2ft long per piece. All together you'll need a good corner of a garage or a spare bedroom worth of space for storing all of the equipment before installing it.

Where is this equipment made?

We do our best to source as much product from North America as possible. Our solar panels are USA, Mexico or Vietnam and most of our batteries and inverters are designed and assembled in the USA.

Do I need to buy anything else?

You'll have everything you need to get up and running with our kits. That said, you will want to plan on a trip to the hardware store to buy any necessary installation tools, ground rods and wire as well as UniStrut if needed for mounting the solar panels. Outside of this, you'll be getting all of the most important components in your kit!

How long will it take for me to get my kit after ordering?

If you're in the lower 48 states we do our best to get you your order within 5-15 business days. Recently with the incredible demand for products, our delivery times to customer's door are averaging around 9-12 business days. You will receive your tracking numbers as soon as they are available.

How much does shipping cost?

Will I be able to track my order and deliveries?

You will receive your tracking numbers via email and/or text message as soon as they are available. What's Your Return Policy?

We try and keep returns simple and easy. We do not charge restocking or return fees. That said, if you decide to return it because you no longer want it, you'll just pay return shipping. If something arrives damaged, we'll cover all of the costs to get you a properly working product.
