What happens after your Order

Receiving your HBK Solar Kit

Taking Delivery of Your Solar Kit:

Please note, your solar kit will arrive in 3-5 shipments different shipments (solar panels one day, batteries another etc..

Please watch for phone calls from freight companies and be prepared for multiple large deliveries across 2-3 weeks after ordering.

We will provide tracking numbers for each shipment via email, so please watch for these to start coming through anywhere from 3-7 business days after placing your order.

Mounting Your Solar Panels (Guide and Examples)

Solar Panel Mounting Info & Guides: Our kits do NOT come with mounting hardware, they come with high quality solar panels that are pre-drilled and ready to be mounted by their strong aluminium frames.

Feel free to request a spec sheet on your specific solar panels and we can provide this for you.

Average solar panel dimensions are: 65 inches x 39 inches and 1.5 inches thick.

*This is about 5.5 feet tall by 3.25 ft feet wide.

Grounding Your HBK Solar Kit (Guides & Examples)

We do NOT provide grounding wires or grounding rods. This is your responsibility and will require a trip to your local hardware store.

You will need to source the proper grounding wire and rods for your system that meet your local codes and requirements.

Recommended battery cable and terminal size for each inverter:



WARNING: Be sure the length of all battery cables is the same. Otherwise, there will be voltage difference between inverter and battery to cause parallel inverters not working.

Recommended AC input and output cable size for each inverter:

You need to connect the cables of each inverter together. Take the battery cables for example: You need to use a connector or bus-bar as a joint to connect the battery cables together, and then connect to the battery terminal. The cable size used from joint to battery should be X times cables size in the tables above. "X" indicates the number of inverters connected in parallel.

Regarding the AC input and output, please also follow the same principle.

CAUTION: Please install the breaker at the battery and AC input side. This will ensure the inverter can be securely disconnected during maintenance and fully protected from over current of battery or AC input.

Recommended breaker specification of battery for each inverter:

After completing the physical setup, please follow the complete LCD settings below. Kindly note that this is only for our kit's intended use of split phase 240/120V configuration in an off grid or with hybrid charging setup. Some settings will vary depending on actual usage/purpose on site.

After pressing and holding ENTER button for 3 seconds, it will enter setting mode. Press “UP” or “DOWN” button to select setting programs. Then press “ENTER” button to confirm the selection or ESC button to exit.

General Wiring Details


WARNING: It's REQUIRED to connect battery for parallel operation.

You need to connect the cables of each inverter together. LV6048 (Grey or White) Setup Guide

When setting up your inverter, it will be important to set the parameters properly based on the battery that you have with your system.

Please go through and switch the settings to the parameters below:

For your LV6048 Inverter, go to settings by pressing and holding for 3 sec the enter button, Navigate to the following settings and change to the following parameters:

For Batteries KONG ELITE, KONG, HSKY, TREX & GRILA

• Settings 05: Battery Type - USE (User-define)
• Settings 02: Max Charging Current - 90A
• Settings 11: Max Utility Charging Current - 40A
• Settings 26: Bulk Charging Voltage - 58.4V
• Settings 27: Float Charging Voltage - 58.0V
• Settings 29: Low DC Voltage Cut-off - 48.0V

The max input voltage of the charge controller in your unit is from 90V - 230V. This means that you need AT LEAST 90V going into the unit to register a charge. What is super cool about the LV6548 with the huge charge controller is that you can get roughly 8000 watt into the unit.

If you have added more panels, or have them set-up incorrectly, it can cause your system to shut down and restart. Setting 6 is designed so that in the event of an overload, the system shuts off and reboots. This is a friendly reminder that it is important to follow the diagram instructions provided, or make sure to stay within the input voltage of the unit. You can find the diagram instructions below depending on the kit you ordered.

The max input voltage of the charge controller in your unit is from 120V - 430V. This means that you need AT LEAST 120V going into the unit to register a charge.

If you have added more panels, or have them set-up incorrectly, it can cause your system to shut down and restart. Setting 7 works so that in the event of an overload, the system shuts off and reboots. This is just a friendly reminder to follow the diagram instructions, or make sure to stay within the input voltage of the unit.

Setting 3kW 48V Growatt / Rich Inverter Setup for Split Phase (240V)

If you wanted to have a 240V output from your 2 x Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM Inverter you can follow the connection on this diagram:



For the Power Connection make sure that the Line of Inverter 1 is connected to the Hot/Line 1 of the Load and the Line of the Inverter 2 is connected to the Hot/Line 2 of the load. Then connect the Neutral of both Inverter to the neutral bar. The same goes with the Ground which you can both connect to the ground bar.

For the Communication Connection please use both wires included on the Inverter and follow the connection above.

Then once you have powered the Inverter, you can set settings number 23:

Set Inverter 1 to 2P0 and the set Inverter 2 to 2P2. This should give a 240V output.

Battery Shut Down

The most common issue with batteries in an HBK kit is that the battery dies. If that has happened to you, please follow the instructions below.

If your battery got too low, then your inverter will no longer be able to sense it. Once the battery reaches a certain voltage that is too low, the inverter can no longer recognize the battery is there. At that point, the solar input, or the AC input will no longer be able to charge the battery.

If this happens, you will need to charge your battery externally with a 48V battery charger so that the inverter can sense the battery again and will be able to charge it up with solar or the grid.

This usually happens when the charge parameters set in the Inverter do not match the charge parameters required for the batteries.

In order to make sure this doesn't happen again, please follow the settings provided below:

For your LV6048 or LV6548 Inverter, go to settings by pressing and holding for 3 sec the enter button, Navigate to the following settings and change to the following parameters:

For Batteries KONG ELITE, KONG, HSKY, TREX & GRILA

• Settings 05: Battery Type - USE (User-define)
• Settings 02: Max Charging Current - 90A
• Settings 11: Max Utility Charging Current - 40A
• Settings 26: Bulk Charging Voltage - 58.4V
